Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to investigate the interface archeology through different memory devices in which relations between the individual memory and the cultural memory can be detected that culminates in the contemporary concept of “archive”. This research goes through the study of the work by Ramón Llull and Giordano Bruno, about the art of memory, culminating in the proposals by Aby Warburg. The interface as a visual equivalent of the essay template implies new ways of representing the reality and ordering the knowledge by, among other instances, the contemporary revolution of the archive. In short, the interface template or way, which is found in the base of contemporary digital culture and its best examples are videogames and docwebs, implies a revolution in the structure of thought itself.
